Chuba Akpom: Middlesbrough striker set to join French Ligue 1 side, RC Lens

Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom will be joining French Ligue 1 side, RC Lens in a matter of days after Middlesbrough agreed an €11m deal for the player.

Akpom who emerged top scorer of Championship last season with 28 goals will sign a four year deal the French side.

Boro opted to cash in on the Arsenal academy trainee to avoid losing him for free next summer as he will be entering the last year of his contract.

Akpom also won the Player of the Year in the English second tier division.  He guided Middlesbrough to Championship playoff but they failed to gain promotion to the Premier League.

He has played for a number of clubs in Europe and England, including PAOK Saloniki, Hull City, St Truiden, Nottingham Forest and Brighton.
