Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Women’s, Ethiopian Women’s Premier League champions and participants in the East African Women’s Club Champions League, have reached an agreement to sign three Nigerian players as part of their squad strengthening efforts.

The new arrivals — a goalkeeper, a forward, and a defender — are expected to land in Addis Ababa.

Among the players expected to join the team is Bolaji Olamide, a prolific striker for Remo Stars Ladies in the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership and the top scorer in the 2024/25 season.

Completing the trio is Sunday Opeyemi Anu, a versatile player for Remo Stars Ladies. Opeyemi has featured for Nigeria in both the U-17 and U-20 Women’s World Cups.

The signings underscore Ethiopian Commercial Bank’s ambition to strengthen their squad with proven international talent ahead of the coming season.

They hope to replicate last season’s feat of winning the CECAFA (East Africa) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers and also participate in their second CAF Women’s Champions League after debut in 2024.
