Concacaf W Champions Cup: Chinwendu Ihezuo strike sends Pachuca into semi-finals

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Pachuca have booked their place in the Concacaf W Champions Cup semi-finals after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Orlando Pride on Tuesday night.

The Mexican side secured qualification thanks to Chinwendu Ihezuo’s crucial second-half equaliser, which cancelled out Marta’s opener for the hosts.

Ihezuo’s goal ensured Pachuca advanced to the Final Four, joining Club América, Washington Spirit, and NJ/NY Gotham FC in the semi-final stage.

Her compatriot, Osinachi Ohale also featured for Pachuca as they continue their quest to add to their league title.

Pachuca finished second in Group A with seven points, three behind another Mexican outfit, Club America.

Orlando Pride, Alajuelense, and Chorillo bowed out of the tournament from Group A.

The semi-finals are scheduled to take place from May 20 to 23, 2026, with venues and fixtures to be announced in due course.
