Coppa Italia: Cyriel Dessers, David Okereke makes history with Cremonese

Nigeria duo of Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke combined incredibly to hand Cremonese an historic win against Roma in the Coppa Italia.
Cremonese advanced to the Coppa Italia semifinal as they defeated Roma 2-1 with goals from Cyriel Dessers and an own goal from Zelik Çelik knocked Roma out of the Coppa Italia.
Cyriel Dessers gave Cremonese the lead from the penalty spot after he was hacked down by Rui Patricio.
The goal forced some half time changes from Roma coach, Jose Mourinho but this didn’t stop David Okereke dangerous run and crosses from inflicting more worries to Roma.
David Okereke turned provider for Cremonese second goal as he put in a dangerous cross which was diverted into the back of the net by Roma defender, Zeki Çelik.
Okereke had the chance to register his name on the score sheet but his best chance was an individual effort that scaled off the goal post.
Roma were able to grind out a goal but the goal couldn’t rescue them from getting knocked out of the Coppa Italia.
With the win, Cremonese made history as they advanced to the semifinal of the Coppa Italia since they were founded.
Cremonese will trade tackles with Fiorentina in the semifinal of the Coppa Italia.
Meanwhile in the Italian Serie A, Cremonese are rooted to the bottom of the league and if they fail to turn around their fortunes, they will be relegated to the Serie B.
