Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is considering deploying deadline-day signing Chrisantus Uche in a striking role as he looks to expand the team’s attacking options.
Uche, who joined Palace from Spanish side Getafe on transfer deadline day, has already made two appearances for the club — his Premier League debut in the goalless draw against Sunderland last weekend and a Carabao Cup outing against Millwall on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old Nigerian is primarily an attacking midfielder, but Glasner believes his physical qualities could make him effective as a forward.
“Yes, he could be. He’s also physical. He’s an option that we are considering,” Glasner told the club’s official website.
The Austrian coach may experiment with the idea when Palace travel to face West Ham United in their next Premier League fixture at London Stadium.
