Cyriel Dessers nominated for Rangers’ Goal of the Month award after stunning strike

By Wale Mustapha

Cyriel Dessers has earned a nomination for Rangers’ Goal of the Month award for November following his spectacular strike in the 1-1 draw against Olympiacos in the UEFA Europa League.

The match, played at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskakis in Athens, saw Olympiacos take the lead through a powerful effort from Moroccan forward Ayoub El Kaabi.

However, Dessers responded in style, producing a moment of individual brilliance to level the score and secure a valuable point for Rangers.

His well-taken goal not only salvaged a crucial result but also provided a significant confidence boost for the Nigerian international.

Despite a relatively slow start to the season, Dessers has been in fine form, netting 10 goals across all competitions for Rangers.

However, his finishing has been the subject of some criticism from fans, putting added pressure on him to perform.

This nomination serves as a timely reminder of his capabilities and has sparked renewed praise for his talent.

Dessers will compete against three other Rangers players for the Goal of the Month award: Hamza Igamane, Mohammed Diomande, and Nedim Bajrami.

All three have scored outstanding goals in recent fixtures, with fans now tasked with determining the winner through online voting.

The Goal of the Month award will be decided by supporters, and Dessers will hope that his moment of magic against Olympiacos earns him the top spot.
