Cyril Dessers scores, provide assist in Glasgow Rangers’ Scottish Cup comeback win

New Glasgow Rangers’ striker, Dessers produced man of the match performance on Saturday as he helped his side to a spirited 2-1 comeback win over Greenock Morton in the Round of 16 League Cup.
The Super Eagles’ forward tasted both villain and hero’# treatment from Rangers’ fans at Ibrox Stadium as he was the culprit of Morton’s goal which they converted from the spot through Grant Gillespie.
Dessers ensured the visitors’ lead only lasted for seven minutes as he restored parity for Rangers on the hour mark from the penalty spot.
He would then be involved in the Gers’ winning goal as it was his lovely pass that found Danilo who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
Dessers used the performance to warmed the hearts of Gers’ fans who are still unsure of the Nigerian’s abilities.
He has now scored two goals for the Scottish giants with both coming in cup competitions – UEFA Champions League qualifiers and the Scottish League Cup.
It was not Dessers that had a decent game on Saturday but his Super Eagles’ team mate, Leon Balogun who was rock solid in Rangers’ defense.
Rangers will them focus their attention to Tuesday’s game at the same ground when they will be hosting PSV Eindhoven in the playoff round of the UEFA Champions League.
