Daniel Ogunmodede rues Remo Stars’ defeat to Plateau United in Jos
By Wale Mustapha
Daniel Ogunmodede, the Head Coach of Remo Stars, has expressed his disappointment over his team’s narrow defeat to Plateau United on Sunday.
The Sky Blue Stars suffered a 1-0 loss to their hosts from Tin City in the Matchday 31 encounter of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), with Sunday Anthony scoring the solitary goal in the second half.
Ogunmodede lamented the unfortunate outcome, attributing it to Plateau United’s luck and Remo Stars’ inability to capitalize on their chances.
“We knew Plateau United needed the win badly, and they came out fighting,” Ogunmodede explained.
“In the first half, we contained them well. However, they increased the pressure in the second half, and although we tried to hold our ground, they were ultimately fortunate to secure the three points.
“Plateau United were lucky to go home with the maximum points, and we Remo Stars were very unlucky not to get something from the game.”
Following the defeat, Remo Stars have dropped to fifth position in the league table, with 50 points from 30 matches.
