David Kasumu: Huddersfield manager gives injury update on Nigeria midfielder

Huddersfield Town boss Mark Fotheringham has played down the concerns surrounding David Kasumu, who missed the Terriers 2-0 defeat to Watford on Saturday afternoon with an Achillies injury.
The 23-year-old was named in Fotheringham’s starting XI for Huddersfield’s trip to Bramall Lane to play Sheffield United recently, only for him to be replaced at half-time by Jonathan Hogg.
The midfielder joined Huddersfield in the summer from MK Dons, arriving at the John Smith’s Stadium on a three-year deal and he has racked up 13 appearances for Town in the Championship so far this season.
“It’s not serious at all and he will be back in the near future,” Fotheringham told reporters at the post-match press conference.
“David has had a thickening of the Achilles. He wasn’t quite right in the game against Sheffield United, so we decided
to take him off the grass this week to give him a break from the load.”
Kasumu is creating a descent name for himself as he is currently rated as one of the best holding midfielders of Nigerian descent in the Football League, having won Huddersfield Town’s Player of the Month for October 2022.
