Dayo Ojo has announced his departure from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Remo Stars after three seasons with the Sky Blue Stars.

His contract expired at the end of the 2023/2024 season, during which the team finished second in the league for the second consecutive season and secured a place in the CAF Champions League.

Ojo, who played a pivotal role in the club’s qualification for continental football in three straight seasons after their promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL), decided to seek new challenges elsewhere.

During his tenure with the Ikenne-based side, Ojo scored six league goals in 80 games.

The 31-year-old midfielder previously played for Shooting Stars, Sunshine Stars, and Enyimba before joining Remo Stars. As a free agent, he is open to offers, with interests from Rivers United and his former club, Enyimba FC.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles player Ismail Sodiq was voted Remo Stars’ player of the season after the conclusion of the last campaign. He was selected ahead of the club’s top goal scorer, Sikiru Alimi, and Ahmed Akinyele in an online poll.
