Desire Oparanozie on target as Wuhan clinch Chinese Women’s Super League title

Nigeria forward, Desire Oparanozie was on target for Wuhan Jiangda as her team defeated Shangdon Ticai 2-0 away from home in Thursday’s Chinese Women’s Super League encounter.
The Super Falcons striker’s goal was her first in the Chinese league since joining the team from French D1 Arkema side DFCO Dijon earlier in January 2022.
After a barren first half, Yao Wei opened the scoring for the visitors in the 61st minute after a barren first-half display by both sides.
With five minutes to the end of the game, Oparanozie converted Wuhan’s second goal to put the game beyond reasonable doubt.
The win over Shangdon Ticai all but confirmed Wuhan Jiangda as the Chinese Super League Women League Champions for the third consecutive season.
Despite four games still to play, the Wuhan side confirmed another trophy with a sensational campaign of 14 wins in 14 games.
Oparanozie is having a rewarding season in China after playing for the likes of Bayelsa Queens, Delta Queens before stints abroad with Lüleburgaz 39 Spor, Rossiyanka, Wolfsburg, Atasehir Belediyespor, Guingamp, and Dijon.
