Didier Drogba warns Victor Osimhen against move to PSG

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has warned Victor Osimhen never to join big-spending French Ligue 1 side, Paris Saint Germain (PSG), ahead of the busy 2023 summer transfer window.
Drogba’s comments came after Osimhen scored his 26th goal of the season during Napoli’s Champions League quarter-final second-leg 1-1 clash against AC Milan on Tuesday, with the Nigerian’s effort a mere consolation, as Milan progressed to the semi-finals for the first time since 2007.
With the Nigeria international star expected to spark a bidding war among Europe’s elite clubs, Drogba has urged Osimhen to be careful when he makes his decision, stressing that needs to go elsewhere to continue his progress.
“If he (Osimhen) is really in the sights of a club like PSG,” Drogba told Canal Plus.
“It shows the full extent of his talent and the season he is having. But PSG is not the club he needs to continue his progress.”
The Napoli striker is regarded as one of Europe’s hot prospects, having scored 26 goals from 31 matches across all competitions this season aside from his five goals in four matches in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers for Nigeria.
Although the 24-year-old still has two years left on his contract, having joined Napoli from Lille for a club-record fee of €75.00m, PSG sporting director Luis Ocampos has reportedly held talks with Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda on two occasions already over a possible summer move to the French capital.
The French Ligue 1 giants are among the clubs interested in the services of the Nigerian, which also include Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
