Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars, Dominic Iorfa has expressed confidence that the new managers of Nigeria Premier Football League [NPFL] will transform the league for better.
The new board of NPFL was inaugurated in Abuja on Wednesday by the President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau with Honorable Gbenga Elegbeleye as the chairman of the new board.
Iorfa, who is one of the members of the newly inaugurated board of NPFL representing the Club Owners, said that the league would witness more stability and growth as he called for support from relevant stakeholders to boost the football ecosystem.
“I want to appreciate the honour to serve the country as one of the board members of the NPFL Board, this is a special appreciation to my colleagues in the Clubs Owners Association for trusting me to represent them and also to contribute to the growth of our football at this precious period,” Iorfa told NigeriaFootball.
“Our domestic league has encountered setbacks in the previous years and it is time for stability and growth. We have to come together as a football family and work hard to transform our domestic league.
“The bedrock of any successful Football Association in the world is the League and we have accepted the challenge from the NFF President to reform the NPFL.
“The league gave ex-players like me the opportunity to stardom and we must not neglect it and our football heritage, we need to bring glamour back, we need to make it competitive and reform the league.
“The NFF President spoke about Club Licensing, which will guide the new Board on reforms that will transform our domestic League. I am optimistic the NPFL Board will deliver on the mandate given to us. We need the support of the ecosystem and we will work hard to take our League to the top level.”
The 2023/2024 NPFL has been scheduled to kickoff on 26th August 2023.
