‘Don’t hurry in renewing Eagles and Falcons coaches contracts’ – warns FCT FA boss

Chairman of the FCT Football Association, Mohammed Mouktar Adam has called on NFF to employ a competently experienced coach if Nigeria is to win the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
Speaking after the 3-2 victory in the qualifying match against Sierra Leone on Sunday, he believes Nigeria has what it takes to lift the trophy with an experienced manager to coordinate the players.
According to the newly re-elected FCT FA boss, the team has a pool of talent enough to win the next AFCON but needs the experience of a capable manager, and urged the Super Eagles play quality friendlies in FIFA windows.
“Our players are good but they need a sound coach to put them together. We have experienced players making waves in European clubs,’ Mouktar told media.
“We also have good players locally that can fight for the shirt. For me, Super Eagles have what it takes to win Nations Cup next year.
“My advice for NFF Executive Committee is not to be in a hurry in renewing any contract be it Super Eagles and Super Falcons. I foresee Super Eagles winning AFCON 2024 in Cote d’Ivoire with the right coach.”
