By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Nigeria-eligible forward Edna Imade made a significant impact for Granada in their Spanish women’s top flight match, scoring two late goals to secure a 2-0 victory over Eibar.
In their third league match of the 2024/2025 season, Granada struggled to find the net in the first half, prompting manager Arturo Ruiz to make changes in the second half.
Imade came on in the 56th minute, replacing Paula Arana, and quickly made her mark. She broke the deadlock in the 85th minute, scoring her first goal of the season.
With determination to secure their first win, Imade added a second goal in stoppage time, solidifying Granada’s victory.
This win lifted Granada to ninth place in the league with three points after three games. They face a challenging matchup next against holders FC Barcelona on September 28, 2024.
Imade’s performance has certainly set the tone for her team’s aspirations this season.
