Edo State Government covers health insurance for Edo Queens, Bendel Insurance

Edo State government have announced the enrollment of players and staffs of Bendel Insurance and Edo Queens, into a Health Insurance Scheme, Benin City on Tuesday.
The government takes a huge step to enroll both men and women clubs as part of efforts to improve the welfare and medical condition of the players and promotes gender equality.
The health insurance scheme enrollment took place on Tuesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, with players, officials, and backroom personnel from both clubs participating in the exercise.
Newly promoted to the top flight, Bendel Insurance top the NPFL group A with 16 points in 6 games, while Edo Queens top the NWFL group B with 12 points from 6 matches.
Players of both sides reacted excitedly, describing the exercise for the players’ and staff, as a huge motivation.
Speaking for the men’s team, Bendel Insurance’s captain Maurice Prince said: “Whether on duty or not, we can now access health facilities without thinking of looking for big amounts of money for treatment.
“Let me thank Edo State Government and our management for all they have been doing for us. They have always taken care of our medicals before now so, enrolling us on the Health Insurance scheme means they have extended the facility to capture our families.
On the ladies part, Edo Queens captain Onyebuchi Ihuoma Goodness said: “The scheme is of great advantage and benefits to us. We promise we will reciprocate the kind gesture in the field of play and remain loyal.”
