By Wale Mustapha

Flying Eagles, the Nigeria U20 men’s national team are expected to resume training next week ahead of African Cup of Nations U20 Championship.

This is the first time the team will regroup since winning the U20 WAFU Zone B Championship in Niger Republic.

Coach Issa Ladan Boss led side defeated Benin Republic 3-1 in the final in May.

Egypt will host the U20 AFCON and it’s billed to kick off on February 18, the final match is scheduled for March 12.

A semi-final spot, in Egypt, for the Flying Eagles guarantees the team a place at the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2023.

The Flying Eagles have won a record of seven African U-20 Cup of Nations titles and are also two-times runners-up of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup will take place in Indonesia.
