El-Kanemi Warriors appoint Kabiru Dogo as technical adviser for 2026 NPFL season

By Dayo Awoniyi

El-Kanemi Warriors have named Kabiru Dogo as their new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Dogo, an experienced coach in the Nigerian top flight, previously managed clubs such as Kwara United and Nasarawa United.

He takes over the reins at El-Kanemi following a mixed season in which the club won the President Federation Cup but faltered late in the league campaign.

The Warriors had started strongly, going unbeaten in their first 10 matches, but their form declined in the closing stages of the season, jeopardizing their top-table ambitions.

Dogo’s last managerial stint was with Nasarawa United, where he was relieved of his duties in February 2025 after a disappointing run left the team in 18th place with just 26 points from 24 games.

He was replaced by former Super Eagles assistant coach Salisu Yusuf. Prior to that, he took over at Kwara United in early 2023, following the sacking of Abdulazeez Mohammed.

El-Kanemi Warriors are banking on Dogo’s experience and tactical acumen to revive the squad’s consistency and mount a stronger league and continental challenge next season.

Club officials say the appointment is part of broader efforts to restructure and improve competitiveness across all fronts.
