Election: Nigeria Premier Football League goes on mid-season break

The Nigeria Premier Football League will go on a deserved three weeks break after a hectic congestion of fixtures.
The Nigeria topflight league are scheduled to head on mid-season break after the match day nine matches.
According to Interim Management Company, the break will  avail the clubs to re-strategize for the second stanza of the league, with some gearing up for topflight survivals while others fight for a place in the Super Six.
The mid-season break will also permit players and officials to exercise their civic responsibilities by participating in the upcoming general elections.
In NPFL group A, unbeaten Bendel Insurance top the standing with 20 points and they are closely followed by Enyimba with 16 points and Plateau United in third with raking 14 points from eight games. At the foot of the group, El Kanemi Warriors with five points and Nasarawa United with four points languish in the relegation waters.
On group B, Lobi Stars lead the table with 15 points and chased closely by Abia Warriors in second place with 13 points, and Rivers United in third with same points despite two games in hand. At the bottom places, Dakkada and Bayelsa United are rock bottom of the table with seven points and six points respectively.
Hostilities is expected to resume on the 18th of March 2023, while the current season is scheduled to end in May.
