Elijah Adebayo: Nigerian striker wins Luton Town’s January Player of the Month Award

The scintillating form of Anglo-Nigerian striker, Elijah Adebayo has earned him a January Player of the Month’s Award from his National League club side, Luton Town.

Adebayo with 44 percent, topped the poll conducted on the club’s website to take the January accolade.  He was involved in all Luton’s seven matches played last month where he started in six of it with a return of five goals.

Adebayo netted in five consecutive matches, starting with his header against West Brom, followed by goals against Wigan Athletic (2) , Grimsby Town and Cardiff City.

The 25-year-old was also nominated for the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month for January 2023, along with Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom, ex-Bristol City star Antoine Semenyo, Norwich City’s Teemu Pukki, Burnley’s Ian Maatsen and Coventry City’s Kasey Palmer.

Adebayo has now scored 52 goals in 176 Football League appearances spanning through his times at Luton Town, Cheltenham Town, Swindon Town, Stevenage and Walsall FC.

A product of the Fulham academy, Adebayo joined Luton Town in February 2021.
