Emmanuel Amuneke admits tough Nigeria Premier Football League terrain

Heartland FC manager Emmanuel Amuneke has expressed frustration over the club’s poor start to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Naze Millionaires have managed just one point from their opening four matches, a goalless draw against Katsina United in Owerri.
Their latest setback came in Ibadan, where they suffered a bitter defeat against Shooting Stars.
Amuneke acknowledged the team’s struggle but pointed out that the players are adapting to his style of play, attributing the loss to Shooting Stars to a lapse in concentration, despite dominating the game and creating numerous chances, including a penalty appeal.
“Success doesn’t come easy. We worked hard, dominated the game, and even had the ball in the back of the net. But a lapse in concentration cost us,” Amuneke said, according to Complete Sports.
He remains positive, stating that the players are gradually adjusting to his philosophy and that their confidence will improve once they secure their first victory.
“The players are quickly adapting to our philosophy. We’re encouraging them and building their confidence,” Amuneke added. He remains optimistic that a win in their next game will ignite a winning mentality within the squad and bring out their true potential.
