Enyimba stand-in coach, Yemi Olanrewaju has attributed the low turnout of goals in the Nigeria Premier Football League to short of goal scorers despite his team secured a 2-0 win over Sporting Lagos on Sunday.
A goal in each half from Ezuokwotim Eze and Elijah Akanbi gave the People’s Elephant the victory at the Enyimba Stadium.
Asked how the defending champions will address their missing chances, the former Vandrezzer coach said scoring problem is not peculiar to the People’s Elephant alone just as he promised an improvement in that department.
“If you observe the league, except for Sikiru Alimi and Robert Mizo, I don’t think there is any player in the league that has scored eight goals this season,” Olanrewaju told media.
There is no enough marksman in the league right now and it’s affecting almost all the teams.”
Enyimba’s win over Sporting Lagos has moved them to fourth on the NPFL log with 29 points from 15 games.
