EPL: Alex Iwobi surpasses Kanu Nwankwo’s record

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi made history with his assist in Fulham’s 3-1 victory over Newcastle United, surpassing Nwankwo Kanu to become the Nigerian player with the most assists in Premier League history.
With this assist, Iwobi reached a total of 30 assists in the competition, breaking Kanu’s record of 29, achieved during his time at Arsenal, West Brom, and Portsmouth.
Iwobi has started every match for Fulham this season and contributed significantly with one goal and three assists in five league appearances.
This victory was also notable for Fulham as it marked their first win against Newcastle since 2017, ending a long winless streak against the Magpies.
Iwobi’s achievement recounts his growing influence in the Premier League since making his debut in 2015, having played for Arsenal, Everton, and now Fulham.
