Esiti Celebrates Gent’s Hard-Fought Victory Against Charleroi in Belgian Pro League

Nigerian midfielder, Anderson Esiti, expressed his jubilation after Gent secured a hard-fought victory against Sporting Charleroi in the Belgian Pro League on Thursday night, as reported by Completesportsnigeria.com. The thrilling encounter culminated in Roman Yaremchuk’s 90th-minute goal, propelling Gent to their seventh consecutive league game without defeat, including six wins and one draw.

Esiti, alongside his compatriots Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu, played pivotal roles for Gent, with Esiti contributing until his substitution in the 69th minute. In the aftermath of the intense match, Esiti shared his elation, emphasizing the significance of the triumph for Gent, now positioned fourth in the league table with 32 points.

In an interview with Gent’s official website, Esiti remarked, “Wonderful! Just look at my reaction. This is a very important victory, for sure. These are the moments for which you play football if you can score in the last minute.” He praised his teammate Roman Yaremchuk, describing him as a “very strong player” and expressing joy in playing alongside him.

Esiti disclosed that he played the Thursday night game with a slight injury, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming match against Anderlecht on Tuesday. “I injured myself a bit during the warm-up, I thought I was not going to play at first, but the doctors told me that I should try anyway. I felt good, only I played with a little bit of fright,” Esiti explained, adding that the chances of him participating against Anderlecht are slim, pending further assessment.
