Esther Okoronkwo: Nigeria striker notches second goal of the season for UDG Tenerife

Nigeria striker, Esther Okoronkwo was on scoresheet for Granadilla Tenerife as they suffered 3-2 defeat against Madrid CFF in the Spanish Liga F match on Sunday.
The Super Falcons’ forward who came on as second half substitute could not see her goal helped Tenerife recorded a point in the match decided at the Estadio Fernando Torres in Fuenlabrada.
Aida Esteve gave the home side the lead in the 37th minute before Zambian striker, Rachael Kundananji make it 2-0 for Madrid with three minutes after benefiting from a rebounded effort.
Tenerife halved the deficit with the last touch of the opening half as Agustina Barrosso scores from edge of the box.
The visitors were the better side in the second half dominating most of the proceedings and were closed to get the equaliser.
Okoronkwo was introduced as replacement for her fellow Nigerian, Rinsola Babajide in the 77th minute as Tenerife continue pushing for late equalizer.
Monday Gift was also threw into the fray for the visitors to add up more numbers up front.
Okoronkwo went on find the back of the net for Tenerife with her second goal of new campaign.
However, the visitors could not protect the points as Madrid rallied to snatch the win with added time goal from Laura Dominguez.
The disappointing result left Tenerife seventh on the log with nine points from six games while Madrid CFW moved to second on 15 points.
