Evelyn Ijeh bags brace in Vaxjo’s loss to Norrkoping

Nigeria-eligible midfielder Evelyn Ijeh scored two goals as Vaxjo DFF fell to a 3-2 loss to Norrkoping on Monday.

My Cato gave the visitors an early lead in the seventh minute of play in the Swedish Damallsvenskan encounter.

However, Ijeh equalized for the host in the 15th minute from Alexandra Jonasson’s assist.

A minute before halftime, she scored her second goal of the game off Ella Nilsson’s assist.

A determined Norrkoping scored two goals after the restart to complete a comeback win over Olof Unogard’s team.

Ebba Handfast started the resurrection in the 70th minute with the equalizer.

A minute later, Wilma Leidhammar converted the winning goal to complete the comeback.

Ijeh played the full 90 minutes for her team after their third loss in its last five league games.

She has scored seven league goals in 14 games this season.

Unogard’s side occupy the eighth position on the table with 14 points from 14 games and will next face leaders, BK Hacken on June 25.
