FA Cup: Tosin Adarabioyo shines with brace in Chelsea’s rout of Morecambe

Nigerian-born defender Tosin Adarabioyo delivered a standout performance by scoring his first career brace in Chelsea’s dominant 5-0 win over Morecambe in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The 27-year-old centre-back opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a powerful long-range shot, following a pass from Reece James. Adarabioyo completed his brace in the 70th minute with a stunning effort.
Receiving an assist from fellow London-born Nigerian Tyrique George, Adarabioyo took control of the ball on the edge of the box, curling a brilliant shot into the top left corner to secure his third goal of the season.
Chelsea extended their lead in the 50th minute through Christopher Nkunku, who made up for a missed first-half penalty by reacting quickly to a parried shot from goalkeeper Burgoyne.
The Blues put the game beyond Morecambe’s reach with João Félix scoring twice in the final stages, netting two goals within two minutes.
Adarabioyo has become a regular fixture in Enzo Maresca’s squad this season, making 17 appearances across all competitions, particularly after the injury of Wesley Fofana.
His performance against Morecambe not only boosts his confidence but also solidifies his place in the starting lineup. With his goal-scoring ability and defensive stability, Adarabioyo has proven to be an invaluable asset to the team.
