Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided a fresh injury update on Fabinho the midfielder was substituted after just 30 minutes of play.
Fabinho, who has been probably one of the best midfielders for Liverpool this season had a slow start to the game. The Brazilian didn’t have time to redeem his sloppy passes earlier in the game as he went down holding his hamstring.
Jordan Henderson was introduced in his place with the two sides locked in a 1-1 draw after Joel Matip had canceled out Douglas Luiz’s opener. Sadio Mane netted the winner for the Reds in the second half to keep their title hunt alive.
Speaking after the game Klopp remains hopeful the Brazilain will be fit to face Chelsea on Saturday in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
“I think he will [be OK, for the FA Cup final] but I do not know. We have to have a further assessment,” said Klopp.
“He has a good feeling and that gives me a better feeling than I had and I took him off. What that means, I don’t know yet.”
Jürgen Klopp admitted the Reds will need to wait for further assessment in order to discover the extent of the injury Fabinho sustained against Aston Villa:
