FCT’s Enoch Tanimu dreams Nigeria U20 call-up after silver-winning NSF 2022 exploit

After helping Team FCT to a silver medal in the men’s football at the National Sports Festival in Asaba, striker Enoch Tanimu is now hoping to earn a national call-up to the U20 men’s national team.

Tanimu recorded three goals including one in the Gold medal match and provided three assists for FCT despite their final defeat to gold winners Bayelsa in the men’s football event at the 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba.

“It was a good experience for me at the National Sports Festival,” Tanimu told media while celebrating his medal.

“We came close to winning the Gold, but in the end it was not to be and we will accept our silver, which is an improvement on the bronze medal of last year in Benin City.

“Now I hope I can get my chance to show what I am capable of with the Flying Eagles.”

Nigeriafootball.ng understands NFF technical director Augustine Eguavoen watched Tanimu’s score in the gold medal duel against Bayelsa State and took his information after the game.

The Flying Eagles have been preparing in Abuja ahead of next year’s U20 AFCON in Egypt.
