Femi Thomas, the former Nigeria goalkeeper, has emphasized the urgency for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to appoint a coach for the home-based Eagles ahead of the African Championship of Nations qualifiers in October 2024.

With no coach in place, he expressed concerns about the team’s preparation and performance consistency.

Thomas insists that while the league has just started, it’s crucial for the NFF to act quickly to ensure the team is ready.

He noted the unpredictable nature of African players, saying, “You cannot judge by last season’s performance.”

Despite these challenges, he expressed confidence in the players’ abilities to adapt and perform when brought together.

Thomas’s call for swift action reflects a broader hope for the team’s revival and a successful qualification campaign.
