Fidelis Ilechukwu explains Chukwudi Nwaodu’s chioce for Enugu Rangers captain role

Enugu Rangers technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu has given his reasons for choosing Chukwudi Nwaodu as the new captain of the club.
Following the departure of former captain of the Flying Antelopes John Uche to Rivers United, Nwaodu was given the mantle of leadership at the club by the new manager.
Reacting to his choice of Nwaodu, Ilechukwu revealed the midfielder has established himself as a key figure in the team with his good leadership qualities that has always bring the best out of his teammates during matches and training sessions.
“The choice of Nwaodu who has established himself as one of the key figures in the team is well deserved,” the former Plateau and MFM manager told media.
“Nwaodu has good leadership qualities on and off the pitch, as he always bring the best out of teammates both in training and real match situations.
“He is not new to me; as I had a good working relationship with him during my stint with Heartland. I know a lot about him and what he can bring to the table.”
The former Plateau United tactician added, he was spoilt of choices to choose from but the outspokenness and intelligence Nwaodu stood him out.
“Don’t forget too, Nwaodu is well breed as he’s a graduate from one of the varsities in Nigeria, inteligent and outspoken. I was spoilt with choices but his characteristics overwhelmed me.
“I have faith in him and the squad, I beleive with him as the new skipper, Rangers is poised for better things in the new season.”
The influential midfielder joined Enugu Rangers last season but will take the lead front of the players next season.
