By Saheed Afolabi
The newly appointed coach of Enugu Rangers, Fidelis Ilechukwu has set the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) title target for the Nigeria Premier Football League club.
Ilechukwu joined Rangers from Plateau United and he’s ready to get the club back to the continental and the former MFM FC gaffer said the club is ready to go hungry for success.
“Fans will not be happy if at the end of the day we didn’t break the jinx of continental ticket in the state. Nobody will tell me that. The fans are hungry, I am hungry as well,” Ilechukwu told Best Choice Sports.
“At this level of handling clubs in the Nigeria Premier League without winning the trophy is not good for me as well. If you want to get something, you need to get someone who is as hungry as you before it works.
“If only one party is hungry and the other one is not, it will not work. Fans need it but I need it more. I need it the way they need it and I believe the management as well needs it.”
The experienced tactician boasted that he’s one of the best managers in the game and promised not to disappoint the Enugu state government for their support.
“Apart from that, I am one of the best managers when it comes to managing human beings apart from football. I know how we are going to do it. I promise that I will not disappoint them in Enugu State.” he continued.
“I need a formidable force to make sure we win the league. I don’t just want to be a coach who will just participate and go home, I want to win.”
Enugu Rangers weren’t at their best last season but they got to the final of the Federation Cup were Bendel Insurance defeated them at the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba.
