Fikayo Tomori Expresses Gratitude to Ola Aina and Hull City Teammates

Hull City, United Kingdom – Fikayo Tomori, the 19-year-old Nigerian-born English U-20 star currently on loan to Hull City from Premier League champions Chelsea, has expressed his deep appreciation to Super Eagles defender Ola Aina and his Hull City teammates for their unwavering support and warm welcome as he embarks on his loan spell.
In a press conference ahead of Hull City’s forthcoming league game against Sunderland, Tomori shared his thoughts on his initial experience with the club, stating, “I’m enjoying it a lot here. I’ve been here for a week, and things are good.” He commended Ola Aina and Michael Hector, also former Chelsea comrades, for their invaluable assistance in facilitating his smooth transition into the squad. Tomori’s gratitude extends to the entire Hull City team for their warm embrace and camaraderie.
Reflecting on his debut performance in the Hull City jersey against Fulham, a game that ended in a 2-1 loss, Tomori acknowledged the challenges they faced, but he remains optimistic about the team’s potential. “My debut was a different challenge. Fulham made it difficult for us, but in the second half, we really stepped up. I wouldn’t say we lack confidence; it’s just fine margins. Once it clicks, we will get on a run,” he commented.
Tomori, who was part of England’s victorious 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup team, also expressed his commitment to helping Hull City achieve their goal of promotion to the Premier League. Drawing from his experiences at Chelsea and Brighton, where he contributed to a promotion-winning campaign, he is eager to bring a winning mentality to Hull City. “Playing in the Premier League was a great experience for me and it gives me confidence in dropping down to Hull. To win promotion was great. I think I can bring that mentality to Hull,” he added.
Tomori’s integration into Hull City has been marked by the support and camaraderie of his fellow players, setting a positive tone for the young footballer’s loan spell at the club.
