Finidi George makes demands from Enyimba players in Aba
By Wale Mustapha
Head Coach of Enyimba, George Finidi has charged his players to redouble efforts by beating Kwara United to consolidate on their recent good runs in the Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) campaign.
The People’s Elephants forced Niger Tornadoes to goaless draw last Wednesday in Kaduna in their return to domestic league following a dismal outing at the African Football League.
A win for the defending champions would boost their confidence and shoot them up on the log, a target Finidi believed is achievable but with more focus and dedication from his players.
“In the first place, I am happy with the result,” the gaffer said of the last game against Tornadoes. “Inasmuch as we wanted to win, I think not losing will really help my players – it will really push them.
“We will build on the result and try to be better. We are playing the next match (against Kwara United) at home and if we win that one, I think it will put us in a better place, and definitely, the mentality is going to be stronger, but we need to be ready for the fight and give it all to win it.
“I’m quite optimistic that we will win at home, and everything will normalize and we will move on. I’m looking forward to the next match.”
Enyimba are currently occupying 19th spot on the standings with just 4 points from 3 matches, though with 3 outstanding games.
