Finidi George not desperate for permanent Super Eagles job

By Monsurah Olatunji
Nigeria’s interim head coach, Finidi George has expressed his readiness to take charge on a permanent basis.
The Enyimba coach led Nigeria In their friendly game against Ghana and Mali during March international break.
Despite the significance of the opportunity, the ex-player insists he is not under pressure to secure the position permanently.
He won his first game against Ghana, defeating the black stars 2-1 and losing his second game 2-0 to Mali.
Speaking in an interview with Sports Boom, he expressed his willingness and anticipation to coach the team while emphasising that it is not a do or die affair.
“I’m not new to the team, so it wouldn’t take me so long to adapt and try to do new things. I’ve been with the team for almost two years. I know all the players, their strengths, their weaknesses.
“I’m here to serve Nigeria. I’ve been called upon to do that, and I will do it to my best capacity, the way I know how to do stuff.
“I will just take these two games and go back to my club.
“Whatever decision is taken after, so be it. I’m not under pressure to say ‘It must be me.'”
