Finidi George opens up Enyimba game plan against Remo Stars

Enyimba FC head coach, Finidi George has boldly stated that his Aba Elephants side will not relent  as they prepare to face Remo Stars in their week five fixture of  the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The Aba Elephants have won four of their last six NPFL meetings with Remo Stars, with the Ikenne club winning the last encounter in July 2022.

The former NPFL champions recorded their second win of the season thanks to Chukwuemeka Obioma’s brace and another goal from debutant Ademola Adebambo, in 3-0 win over Kwara United in Aba last weekend.

On the other hand, Remo Stars were handed their first defeat of 2023 campaign by Group A leaders Bendel Insurance last time out at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

Ahead of the midweek fixture, George, who also doubles as the Super Eagles assistant manager, stated that his side will be hoping to replicate their winning mentality against Kwara when they meet the Ikenne-based club.

“We can get a good result against Remo Stars. We, as the coaching staff, know this team is good, it’s just for them to come to the party,” George told media.

“We will not relent. We know we have a task ahead of us – against Remo. We will all see how we can go there and get a good result. The league is a marathon.”

Enyimba will slug it out with Remo Stars at their Ikenne stadium on Wednesday 1 February, 2023.
