The Nigeria U-17 women’s national team have arrived safely in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The team departed Abuja at 7:18 a.m. and touched down in Casablanca at 11:28 a.m. local time after a smooth 4-hour, 20-minute flight aboard Royal Air Maroc.
On arrival, the players and officials had a surprise encounter with former Super Eagles defender Taribo West, who shared words of encouragement and motivation, urging the girls to make the nation proud on the world stage.
The team has since checked into the Ibis Hotel, Casablanca, where they will stay during the first phase of their World Cup preparations.
A light training session is scheduled for this evening to help the players recover from the journey.
While in Casablanca, the Flamingos will play two friendly matches against New Zealand and Paraguay as part of their final warm-up programme before heading to their tournament base.
Nigeria is drawn in Group D alongside Canada, France, and Samoa, with the competition set to kick off on October 17.
The Flamingos head into the World Cup brimming with confidence, having won all 10 of their preparatory matches, scoring 44 goals and conceding none — a perfect record they hope to carry into Morocco 2025.
