Folarin Balogun: Eligible Nigerian striker make history in Stade de Reims’ big win

Nigerian born striker, Folarin Balogun was at his very best on Thursday scoring twice to help Stade De Reims to a comfortable 3-1 win over Stade Rennes in a Ligue 1 clash.
The Super Eagles’ hopeful notched his season’s goal tally to 10 with the brace making him the highest scoring player in Europe’s top five league under the age of 21.
Only Kylian Mbappé (13) and Neymar (11), both of PSG have scored more than the on loan Arsenal striker.
Folarin gave Reims the lead inside sixth minutes into the match converting a cross from Arber Zeneli past Steve Mandanda.
Alexis Flips increased Reims’ advantage in the 22nd minutes with the second goal before Arthur Theate gave Rennes a goal just before half time.
With six minutes left to see out the game, the 21 year old registered his second, Reims’ third of the match.
The result has however put Reims to 10th position with 20 points. They will next be away to Lille on Monday.
