Former Super Falcons goalkeeper Judith Chime has enhanced her support for Nigerian women’s football by raising the cash prizes for the NWFL Goalkeeper of the Week award.
This season, the weekly cash prize has been increased to ₦15,000, up from ₦10,000 last year, highlighting her continued commitment to nurturing goalkeeping talent in the league.
Ifeanyi Alaribe, the coordinator of the award, also revealed that Chime has pledged additional rewards for exceptional performances.
“She has also pledged a ₦200,000 cash prize, along with a jersey and gloves, for the Best Goalkeeper of the Season.”
He added, “Furthermore, the Goalkeeper Coach of the Season will receive a ₦75,000 cash prize at the end of the season.”
“So this season, she has increased everything and has promised to continue supporting the NWFL goalkeepers every season.”
These include a ₦200,000 cash prize, a jersey, and gloves for the Best Goalkeeper of the Season, while the Goalkeeper Coach of the Season will receive ₦75,000 at the season’s conclusion.
Alaribe praised Chime’s efforts, noting that she has not only raised the prizes but is committed to supporting NWFL goalkeepers for seasons to come.
Chime’s initiative has been widely appreciated, providing goalkeepers in the NWFL with greater incentives to perform at their best.
