Francis Uzoho: Nigerian goalkeeper wins Cyprus Cup with FC Omonia

Nigerian goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho has won his first trophy with the FC Omonia as the club fought hard to beat AEL Limassol to claim the Cyprot Cup on Wednesday.
Omonia FC held on to the early goal to beat their arch rival as Uzoho was on the bench as deputy goalkeeper in the final played at the GSP Stadium in Strovolos, Cyprus.
The Clovers had a decent run to win the cup haven joined the tournament in the second round with their first game against Karmiotissa that ended 2-1 in their favor.
They had a difficult quarterfinal dwells with APOEL FC but triumphed following 3-2 aggregate in both legs.
Omonia held Pafos FC to 1-1 draw in the first leg of the semifinal before wrapping things up with 3-1 second leg win to book a place in the final.
The Super Eagles’ shot stopper was impressive in the Cup runs playing six of the games with two clean sheets that saw Omonia winning their 16th Cypriot Cup and his first silverware in Cyprus.
