NPFL: Ikorodu City Edge Shooting Stars in South West Derby as Remo Stars Fall Again

Ikorodu City claimed bragging rights in the South West derby after a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Shooting Stars at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, on Thursday.
Joseph Arumala struck the decisive goal just two minutes into the encounter, sealing all three points for the Oga Boys. The win moved Ikorodu City up to third place on the table with 38 points from 23 matches.
Elsewhere, defending champions Remo Stars’ poor run of form continued as they suffered a 1–0 defeat to Warri Wolves at Ozoro. Chisom Orji scored the only goal of the match in the 52nd minute to hand the hosts a vital victory.
At the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, bottom-placed Kun Khalifat boosted their survival hopes with a 1–0 win over Kwara United. Chikamso Amaefula netted the decisive goal six minutes before the hour mark.
In Benin City, Bendel Insurance and Barau FC played out a goalless draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, while Bayelsa United and Niger Tornadoes also shared the spoils in a 0–0 stalemate.
