Nigeria forward Francesca Ordega opened her goal account for the 2023 season in a 3-0 Russian Supreme Division Women win over city rivals Dynamo Moscow on Monday.
With the derby marking the first game of the season, the former Levante UD player opened the scoring when she controlled a pass inside the box before her volley came off the bar before hitting the net in the 22nd minute.
With a narrow first half lead, the visitors doubled their lead when Nevena Damjanovic converted CSKA Moscow’s second goal off a corner kick five minutes into the second half.
From another corner kick, the ball hit Helena Bozic into her net to increase the visitors’ lead in the 57th minute.
CSKA Moscow were reduced to ten players after Milena Nikitina was sent off in the 62nd minute but they held on to ensure a clinical start to the new campaign.
Ordega is in her second season with CSKA Moscow after joining the team from the Spanish side, Levante UD.
The 29-year-old scored seven goals in the league last season as the team won the Russian Cup in company of Cameroon’s Aboudi Onguene and she will hope to surpass her feat in the current campaign.
CSKA Moscow will next face FK Krylya Sovetov Samara on March 18.
