French Ligue 1: Moses Simon scores as Nantes humble Auxerre

Nigerian forward Moses Simon scored one of the goals for Nantes in their 2-0 victory over Auxerre on Sunday.

The match, part of the second week of the French Ligue 1 season, saw Nantes continue their strong start following a goalless draw against Toulouse in their opening fixture.

Simon gave Nantes the lead with a curling shot from the edge of the box in the 14th minute. He was substituted with 12 minutes remaining, making way for Egyptian international Mostafa Mohamed.

Nantes sealed the win with a second goal from Baherba Guirassy, securing their first victory of the new campaign.

Auxerre’s lineup included Nigerian defender Gabriel Osho, who played the full 90 minutes for the visitors.
