Greenfoot Football Academy are the new Champions of the Enugu State FA Cup women’s category after a resounding 6-0 win over Immaculate Football Academy in the final.
A five-star performance from forward, Funke Arogundade inspired her club to FA Cup glory in Enugu State.
Arogundade scored two of her goals in the first half to put her side in the driving seat before she converted a second-half hat trick which further lifted her side to a 6-0 win.
The win was sweet revenge for Aneke Favour’s side after losing to the same opponents in the semi-final last year.
The two finalists were the only teams that registered for the FA Cup in Enugu.
They have both qualified for the national finals where they will meet women’s football heavyweight teams.
They both joined the likes of Edo Queens, Fortress Ladies (both from Edo State), Heartland Queens, and First Babes (Imo State) as well as Lakeside Queens (Ogun State) as the women’s teams that have qualified for the national finals.
More State FA Champions and national finals representatives will emerge in coming days across the country.
