Galaxy legend blames Napoli for Osimhen’s failed England move

Former Galatasaray midfielder Dževad Prekazi has criticized Napoli for blocking Victor Osimhen’s potential move to England, blaming the Serie A club for scuttling the Nigerian striker’s transfer to top Premier League sides.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain were among the clubs that showed strong interest in Osimhen, but their attempts to lure him away from Napoli were met with resistance due to the high asking price set by the Partenopei.

Prekazi, who had a successful six-year stint at Galatasaray, expressed surprise at seeing Osimhen in the Turkish club’s colors, especially given the lucrative offers reportedly on the table from England and other European powerhouses.

“I couldn’t believe Osimhen would come to Galatasaray, but here we are,” Prekazi told TRT Spor.

“He wanted to go to England, but the problem was Napoli. The transfer fee was just too high.”

The Bosnian legend, who scored 40 goals in 185 appearances for Galatasaray between 1985 and 1991, remains optimistic that Osimhen will be a major asset for the Turkish giants.

“It’s great for Galatasaray. He will make a huge contribution, no doubt about it. Nobody can keep him,” Prekazi added.

Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray, despite offers from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, has raised eyebrows, but Prekazi believes the Turkish club has secured a true star in the Nigerian forward.
