Gbenga Elegbeleye reveals purpose of NPFL Youth League

The chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Gbenga Elegbeleye has revealed the purpose of the Youth League.
Elegbeleye further disclosed that the league body wants to ensure all clubs in the NPFL have a youth team, stressing that the Youth League will serve as a growth center for youngsters and provide the Nigeria with good players for age grade competition.
“we want to ensure that every NPFL Clubs has a competitive youth team,” Elegbeleye told the NPFL media.
“The Youth League will serve as the growth centre to develop the next generation of NPFL Players as some gets older and others move abroad.
“This way, we would have a transition structure and also provide the country with options in youth development football at the U-15, U-17 and U-20 levels.”
The former Abia Warriors chairman, Emeka Inyama will serve as the head of the committee, while other Committee members includes, Benue State Football Association (BSFA) chairman, Barrister Paul Edeh, ex international, Patrick Paschal, Sabo Abdullahi, Nicholas Morris and Lagos FA vice chairman, Gafar Liameed.
The NPFL Youth League will hold during the mid season break for the elite clubs.
