Gbenga Ogunbote banking on mid-season recruits to revitalize 3SC season

Shooting Stars coach Gbenga Ogunbote has set his sights on the club’s mid-season signings to help revitalize the club’s ailing Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.

The Oluyole Warriors haven’t been at their best this season despite having a roller coaster preseason championship.

They are seventh on the NPFL abridged group A with ten points from nine games, just three above the relegation spot and the former Remo Stars tactician believes the new additions will significantly improve their performance.

“We have to improve, and I understand the frustration of the fans,” Ogunbote told Brila FM.

“Maybe we should get one or two quality players to tighten up and enhance our performance. We are looking to three or five players to block the loopholes.”

Shooting Stars will trade tackles with Akwa United when the NPFL second round resume on the 25th of March 2023.
