Gbenga Ogunbote vows to solve 3SC goalscoring drought before NPFL kickoff

Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has vowed to solve the goal scoring problem of the squad ahead of the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League this season.

3SC have found goals hard to come by in recent preseason friendly encounters and the recent one against Sporting Lagos saw the Ibadan based club squandering chances.

Ogunbote believes positivity will be taken from the clash against Sporting Lagos and the necessary corrections will be impacted to the team.

“This is one of our pre season games. It has ended in a goalless draw, but we will take the positives from the game and make corrections where necessary,” Ogunbote told Complete Sports.

“The good thing is that we were able to create a lot of chances in the game but we didn’t convert any of them, the only one we converted did not count. It calls for worry but all things being equal, it is just a matter of getting it right.”

The former Remo Stars tactician commended the 3SC fans for their commitment in supporting the team wholeheartedly.

“It is good for us to see a large number of our fans out here, we know we have a large fan base and by his grace, we will not disappoint them,” he continued.

“They came here to see us play, and despite the fact that it was a barren draw, yet, you can see the satisfaction in their faces, and it tells you that the team didn’t do badly, except for the fact that we had no goal to show for it.”
