Gift Orban not getting carried away by blistering goalscoring form for Gent

By Monsurah Olatunji

Red-hot Nigerian striker Gift Orban insists he will continue to work hard to achieve his set goals at Gent, after scoring the fastest hat trick in UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday.
Orban scored a hat trick in three minutes for Gent as they secured a 4-1 win against Istanbul Baseksehir and became the youngest hat-trick scorer in the Europa Conference League history.
The forward now has 10 goals in his last 6 games for Gent including back-to-back hat-tricks and the 20-year-old expressed his excitement about the result and vows to maintain his top form.
”I will get a lot of messages, but I will not answer them. Am I popular? Don’t know. I just keep working hard,” Orban told media.
“You can say it was a very nice evening. It’s the first time I’ve scored three goals in Europe, but I’m just a striker. It’s my job to score. I immediately shift the focus to the match against Eupen.”
