Glory Edet has set bigger dreams after being named in this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League Team of the Tournament following the successful conclusion of the epic second edition of the tournament in Morocco.
The Bayelsa Queens defender claimed the left-back spot on the Champions League XI following her impactful role in the Prosperity Girls outing in the North African nation, where they finished third after 1-0 win over Simba Queens.
Following her Best XI inclusion, the 21-year-old revealed that the next in line for her is global recognition by taking her game to the next level to be amongst the best in the world.
“I want to be among the best in the world and that’s what I am looking forward to in my career,” Edet told Brilla FM.
“I thank Almighty God for making me be among the players that made the team of the tournament. I want to thank my co-players and coaches because they made me what I am today. We give thanks to God because He doesn’t put us to same.”
Edet was the only player from Bayelsa Queens that made the team of the tournament, which was dominated by champions ASFAR with six players and three from runners-up Mamelodi Sundowns as well one from Simba Queens.
